Joining Greg on episode #68 is Author and Music Lover, Lisa Czarina Michaud. Lisa is an Italian American writer based in France. Her work has appeared in The Huffington Post, xojane, Narrtively, Bonjour Paris and other publications. She holds four evaluations at The Evergreen State College, and she joins us here today as she has written her first novel, titled, Slanted and Disenchanted.

Owning your own business is not easy. I have read many books as a business owner, and this one is up there with the best. Gino Wickman’s guide came highly recommended by business owners I know personally and trust.

Wickman gives you a step by step walk through of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). Regardless of what stage you are in your business, you must read this.

Despite his dangerously catching good looks, Rush’s Gary Lee Weinreb, or “Geddy Lee” is my all-time hero on the Bass Guitar. I have seen countless Rush concerts, and my heart was broken that day in January 2020 when I heard the news his long-time drummer and friend, Neil Peart passed away.

This is Geddy’s memoir. If you are a bass player you must own this. If you are a music fan, you must own this. If you’re a Rush fan, well…….what else is there to say?

In addition to several music biographies and autobiographies, I truly enjoy and become motivated by reading improvement or “self-help” non-fiction books. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s book, “Be Useful”. This is less of a biography of Arnold’s life, but more of a motivation to always be sure you are being useful. I struggle with moments of motivation challenges, therefore this has significantly helped me. I will use it as a tool in my life and read it again and again and again. You should too! Highly recommend!

Joining Greg on Podcast episode #51 is Clementine Moss. Clem is an Author, spiritual counselor, and drummer for the Led Zeppelin powerhouse Zepparella.

Clem and Greg dive deep and talk about her counseling practice, her exceptional rock drumming, her love for John Bonham’s drumming style, life on the road as a touring musician, AND, her recent book,

From Bonham to Buddha and Back: The Slow Enlightenment of the Hard Rock Drummer, which was published on February 22, 2023.

Clem lets down her guard and gets emotional as we discuss the beauty of life and the ugliness that life can throw at you.

Many famed music producers are known for a particular sound that has its day and then ages out. Rick Rubin is known for something else: creating a space where artists of all different genres and traditions can home in on who they really are and what they really offer.

Rolling Stone founder, co-editor, and publisher Jann Wenner offers a "touchingly honest" and "wonderfully deep" memoir from the beating heart of classic rock and roll (Bruce Springsteen).

Like a Rolling Stone is a beautifully written portrait of one man’s life, and the life of his generation.

With musical clips of songs from the 1990s, Greg's guest is sportswriter, music writer and book author Andy Frye. Andy is currently a Chicago-based sportswriter for Forbes and has previously written for Rolling Stone, ESPN, and other publications.

In Podcast Episode #39, Andy talks to Greg about his recent published book, 90 Days in The Nineties in addition to his other sports writing and music subject writing career.

The story begins in present day. Main character Darby who breaks up with her boyfriend, leaves her job on Wall Street, and moves back to Chicago. Darby inherits Revolver Records, a Record Warehouse, from her uncle who recently passed away. While longing for easier times, Darby discovers a secret way to travel back to the 1990s and re discover her past and an incredible decade for music. Packed with music from the decade, 90 Days in the Nineties is a must read for any music fan!

Joining me on my 20th Podcast episode is professional musician and author, Ivan Bodley. Ivan is a working-class musician who has partnered with SEVERAL artists such as Sting, Elvis Costello, Wynona Judd, Living Colour, Stanley Clark, Bo Didley and many more. We’re going to talk about a bunch of these with Ivan today. In his book, “Am I Famous Yet? Memoir of a Working-Class Rock Star”, Ivan archives his life on the road meeting and performing with many of these musicians I just mentioned.

In this episode, Ivan and I will talk about his life as a professional musician on the road and in the studio as portrayed in his book.

With a career that has taken him to more than 29 countries playing to audiences of up to 82,000 people, it is no wonder that Ivan “Funkboy” Bodley is truly a working-class rock star.

Special Guest on ALBUMREVIEW.NET Podcast episode 19: Music author Bryan O’Connor. By day Bryan is Vice President of Finance for a Hunger Relief Organization. And by night he is an established music author. Bryan joined Greg to discuss his most recent 2021 published book, Time Decorated – A History of Popular Music in 12 Playlists and his 2019 masterpiece titled, For the Record – My 1,000 Favorite Albums from 1957-2017.

Not only was I impressed with Bryan’s intelligence but his music knowledge goes deep and spreads across MANY genres. When you read his two books, I am confident you will pick up on Bryan’s modesty as he classifies his knowledge level as “basic”, which I vehemently disagree with and I think you will too.
